Your personal background.
Howdy Y'all!! My name is Bob. I am from, and have now retired to South Carolina, USA! I am happily married since April of '92. We have two children, a daughter who was born in '94 and a son who was born in '97. I became interested in computers and how they work back in the early '80's. I graduated High School and joined the US Navy in '82. The Navy trained me to be a Data Systems Technician. I was responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of many shipboard digital electronic systems and peripherals to range from main frames computers to laptops, paper tape drives, card reader punch units (Hollerith), mag tape drives, high speed line printers, medium speed line printers, desktop printers, etc., etc. After 20 years of this, I retired from the Navy. I did some contracting work in the field. Worked as a Field Product Specialist for Pitney Bowes for about 2.5 years, and then went to work for a local school district repairing laptops used by staff and students as well as the network that connected them all and the printers and various other devices. While on this career path my health started failing with back, feet, and nerve issues. I am now disabled and unemployed. I enjoy fishing, boating on the lake and river, camping, spending time with my family and my Miniature Schnauzers! I donate my computer time to many different organizations in hopes it's findings can someday make life better for my kids. My Son has Type 1 Diabetes, and while I have not yet found a project using distributed computing to search for a cure, I have high hopes that some of the research done by others will aid in the discovery of a cure for that disease especially!!
Thanks and happy crunching!!

Your opinions about ОДЛК
I find it very difficult to believe that ours could be the only intelligent life in existence. There are so many galaxies and solar systems out there that could very well support life. I believe that there is sufficient evidence to support the possibility that this planet was visited thousands of years before our time. Many ancient civilizations had built alters to "gods" from the sky. I believe we should search for ET I and I believe if we all could donate our unused processor time to the cause, we would find them much quicker. I believe we have been sending video signals to visitors for many years. I am not sure whether it could be considered a "Welcome" signal or not, have you seen what we put on cable and satellite TV lately? Would you consider that a "Welcome" signal? I do not believe that we as a civilization are ready to make such a discovery though. We fight among ourselves over trivial issues and misunderstandings. We need to step back and reassess the big picture. I believe that if ET were discovered now it would need to be kept as quiet as possible as I believe the governments would order them dissected and destroyed.
